Why Adeptship?

Students of the ascended masters have been blessed with the most advanced spiritual teachings on earth. Our understanding of the purpose of life and of powerful spiritual techniques such as the Science of the Spoken Word is among the very best. Our opportunity and ability to actively work with archangels, angels, Elohim and a host of ascended beings is unsurpassed. You’d think that with all these blessings, earth would be a radiating ball of light where the Golden Age is in full progress!  

And yet, life on this planet seems to be getting progressively worse. Every day’s news brings us more signs that life all around is becoming more and more unhinged.

What’s Happening on this Planet?

Probing carefully beneath the surface of life, we discern a number of unseen forces—non-benign forces—pulling the strings of disruption and destruction. They do this quietly, behind the scenes. And from the chaos all around us, “they” seem to have the winning hand.  

This manipulation of life on earth is nothing new—it has been going on for a long time. But why is this situation not getting better, even though many people are aware of the problems and are joining in one way or another in the fight for the light? Why is there little improvement even though we have the best spiritual science available to us?  

One possible explanation is that collectively we, the lightbearers on earth, are not yet equally matched in light to that high level of sabotage and destruction that comes from “the other side.” So what can and should we do about this?  

Let’s Take Control  

Somewhere in our subconscious or conscious mind we’re all dreaming of being superheroes. We don’t necessarily want to bounce around the planet in cape and mask and knock out the bad guys. But if you are like me, you have soul memories of other times, long forgotten times, when the ability to direct and control energy and consciousness was somehow much easier, much more direct and effective. Do I have that right? 

These could be memories of long forgotten golden ages on Atlantis and Lemuria, when mankind collectively was much more spiritually capable than is now the case. Those glorious days of past attainment are far behind us, but that doesn’t mean we are helpless in the face of the darkness on this planet.  

I believe that even in our day and age it’s possible to become a spiritual superhero. An adept, that is. And by becoming spiritual adepts, we will be able to master our own lives and turn the dire situation in the world around. 

Imagine being wholly past this point of needing to rely on our human self because we haven’t fully integrated with our own divine potential.  

Imagine being completely in the flow of the divine consciousness, at all times.  

What a tremendous new freedom and creativity would that bring.  

That’s the kind of creative freedom I envision as the hallmark of adeptship.

My Journey 

As the former director of Summit University, a modern-day mystery school sponsored by the Great White Brotherhood, I’m very excited to be communicating with you about attaining adeptship—not at some far point in the future but right here and now!

You may ask, is this really possible? Is being a spiritual superhero not just for the chosen few, tucked away in secret caves high in the Himalayas?

I have to admit I asked myself that question as well. I’ve pondered the feasibility of attaining this advanced level of self-mastery for a long time.

My quest for understanding started early in my life. As a teenager I devoured everything in the occult and mystical sections of the local library. Then, as a young adult, I delved deeply into Rosicrucian teachings, alchemy and Theosophy. And always there was this archetype of the perfected human being, the adept, beckoning in the distance. To me, it’s a goal to strive for like none other, even though the journey to get there may seem daunting.

Please understand that I am not claiming to be an adept. Be it far from me to make such a claim. But the pursuit of adeptship is not new to me. And in the course of the pursuit, there is the learning, the growing, the moments of profound experiences and deep understanding. Yes, I witness to the fact that the pursuit of adeptship all by itself has vastly enriched my life.  

What Is Adeptship!

So let’s look at adeptship. What is adeptship, really?

Summed up in just a few words, adeptship makes us co-creators with God.  

Though adeptship has many facets, in essence it refers to attaining mastery and control over all aspects of one’s own existence, as well as conscious control over energy and matter.  

That sounds like a tall order, doesn’t it? The good news is that as with all learned skills, we can start at a level that’s comfortable and doable for us, with certain key practices and achievements.  

It’s very helpful to look at a quote from Mother Mary, who spoke eloquently about adeptship in a dictation given through Elizabeth Clare Prophet in 1993 and provided an excellent definition. She said:  

To be an adept means to have a certain mastery for the holding of Light, for the crystallization of the God-flame within you and for the entering in to the Mind of God. It means, beloved, that you are moved neither to the right nor to the left, neither up nor down by circumstances, by whatever negative is hurled at you. Adeptship is to be unmoved, to be in the center of the T’ai Chi, to know oneself supremely as God but never as a human god—for God has displaced the human. This is your goal of union.

This definition provides us with a simple and helpful formula for adeptship. We must learn to be unmoved in each of our four lower bodies—the etheric, mental, emotional and physical bodies. This means to be in control of each of these bodies so that spiritual light entrusted to us will not be squandered, misused and lost through disharmony in any of our four lower bodies.  

Then, by being calm and unmoved in the four planes of Mater, we will be able to hold more light, become a solid vessel for the energy of our Divine Presence within us, and enter step by step into the Mind of God.  

Why Make the Effort?

To attain this level of self-mastery takes effort, of course. It won’t come to us without studying and practice. Why take this on? Why do it?  

Let me tell you why not to do it.  

We shouldn’t pursue adeptship just to amuse ourselves, nor to flatter ourselves or boost our self-esteem.  

Rather, the ascended masters tell us in no uncertain terms that there’s no other purpose for developing this level of self-mastery than laying it on the altar of humanity. 

The great Mahatma Kuthumi said it like this in his last embodiment as an adept in the Himalayas:

I have labored for more than a quarter of a century night and day to keep my place within the ranks of that invisible but ever busy army which labours and prepares for a task which can bring no reward but the consciousness that we are doing our duty to humanity.  

Wouldn’t you want to be a member of this invisible but ever busy army that labors night and day for the benefit of humanity?  

In a way we already are, since we are so deeply engaged in prayer and decree work for humanity. 

But the ascended masters call us to a new level of world service. They want us not just to be students of the mysteries of the mind but accomplished practitioners.  

They want us to be players on the world scene. They want us to play a more active role as adepts, just as they themselves did.  

By becoming spiritual adepts, we will be able to turn around those challenging situations that confront us everywhere in the world at large.  

We can’t afford to lose the planet to the forces of darkness who are more adept than us—on the left-handed path. We can’t let that happen. The masters need us to step on the path of adeptship!

 

Qualifying Ourselves for Adeptship

So without further ado, let’s look at what is needed to step on this path. Saint Germain, the great Aquarian adept, explained on October 11, 1993:  

We are ready to transfer to you blessings and initiations and an impetus for greater life within your temple. I ask you, then, to study all that you know about what the adepts have taught, to do some form of yoga, some form of meditation and to do so with the idea of entering in to new octaves of consciousness. Yes, the continent of the mind is open to you but you will not enter in save you have the qualifications.  

How do we achieve these necessary qualifications? It’s unlikely they’ll come to us just by themselves. Rather, just like the historical adepts themselves, we’ll have to consciously work on them and develop them.

Learning to Be an Adept  

Adeptship is a rare thing on this planet, and it’s even rarer to find a place where it is taught.  

Can it be learned? Can it actually be taught? I believe it can be. And therefore, Summit University has embarked on its new adeptship thrust. Yes, as of spring 2018, adeptship is being taught in SU!

What’s in the Crash Course?

Attend the 7 webinar replays, receive the instructional handouts and training assignments and have access to the archived recordings for 1 year from date of registration and payment, so you can go back over the material as often as you like during this time.

Option 2: Webinar Replays, Archives and Group Coaching CURRENTLY NOT OFFERED

In addition to the webinars and archives, you’ll receive access to seven group coaching session replays. In these group session replays questions by other group members were asked and experiences are shared. You’ll also be enrolled in a group forum in each topic. Yes, you read that right. In Option 3 you will have access to the webinar replays, group consultations and seven 1-hour personal consultations with myself as your instructor. Below are some answers to questions you may be pondering.

Does this course consist of teachings by Elizabeth Clare Prophet?

Mrs. Prophet, and her husband Mark Prophet before her, were highly accomplished spiritual teachers and modern-day adepts. In their books and lectures, both touched on many topics pertaining to adeptship. So did the ascended masters in their dictations. However, in the archives of The Summit Lighthouse and Summit University there are no ready-made courses or sets of instruction on adeptship by Mark and Elizabeth Prophet that we can pull from the shelf. We’ll therefore draw from their teachings where able but will also add other materials to complement our understanding.

Does the course include material from sources other than The Summit Lighthouse?

Yes, it does. As quoted above, in his dictation of October 11, 1993, Saint Germain urges us to “study all that you know about what the adepts have taught.” This direction from the master points us to many valuable resources about adeptship, often pertaining to past embodiments of the ascended masters where they themselves strove to attain adeptship. These teachings and examples will help tremendously with understanding what adeptship is and how to go about it.

How rigorous is this course? Is it academic? Are there tests and exams? How much time will it take?

The course is not set up as an academic course. Please rest assured that there will be no tests and exams, except a final check-in in Webinar 7 to pre-qualify you for your Certificate of Completion. Expect to spend about 10 hours total to study the webinars and handouts. In addition to these class time activities, the bigger investment of your time will be in doing the exercises. After all, this is not just an informational course but a hands-on training course, and your new skills won’t mature unless you practice the exercises!

Will the live course with additional options be offered again at a later date?

We don’t know yet. It would be SU’s preference to continue on with new material for those who have taken the Crash Course, but there may be enough of a demand from new students to warrant repeating this course.

I feel called to take the Crash Course, but I don’t have the money at the moment. Is there a payment plan available? Are scholarships available?

While we’d love to be able to give the course away for free, we are not able to do this. We need to be able to cover our expenses for preparing and running the course. However, we appreciate that there are some unique financial situations and want to allow as many people to participate as possible. Payment plans may be available upon request. If you are interested in a payment plan option, please contact adeptship@SummitUniversity.org for details and to register with this option. Unfortunately, no scholarships are available for this course.

What kind of computer set-up and skills do I need?

You’ll need a good internet connection with enough bandwidth for video streaming. (We recommend at least 1 mbps download speed, which you can test here: https://testmy.net/download) If you have an email address, are comfortable with a service like FaceBook and/or with using the TSL membership area, you’re good to go. Our technical staff will make a short video presentation available that will walk you through the steps of setting up for and accessing the course.

Will your weekly adeptship emails continue?

We’ll continue to send adeptship emails to our mailing list but will do so less frequently, in anticipation of a very busy schedule developing new Adeptship Program offerings.

I’m already doing so much spiritual work. Will this course side-track me? Why take on more?

Time and time again, the ascended masters have called us to pursue our adeptship and full self-mastery. This shows it’s really important to them that at least some of their chelas take up this calling. Think of it this way: The pursuit of adeptship is an invaluable training that will enhance your spiritual practices and make them much more effective and powerful. That, in turn, allows the masters to invest more light and energy in you and guide you further on the path of initiation. It’s a win-win for all!
